What "bulk" means in this category

In napkin terms, bulk means you buy by the master case rather than the consumer pack, and you take responsibility for secondary distribution. A consumer pack is 20–50 napkins in a printed polybag designed for a shelf. A bulk case is 1,000–3,000 napkins in a plain inner wrap inside a corrugated shipper, designed to be broken down in a storeroom.

The cost difference is not trivial. Removing the retail sleeve removes a printing step, a packing step and roughly 30% of the packaging material. For a buyer moving 50,000 napkins a month, that is usually the single largest saving available without changing the product.

Choosing the right specification for a bulk order

The three decisions that drive both price and satisfaction are ply, fold and substrate. Get one wrong and you will either overpay or hear about it from the floor staff.

Mixing SKUs in one container

Most buyers do not want 40HQ of one napkin. We allow up to eight SKUs per container at the 5,000-piece minimum each, which lets a distributor cover plate service, bar service and takeaway in a single shipment. The constraint is pack-out: if your SKUs have different case cube, we calculate the container loading and tell you the realistic fill before you commit, rather than after.

Ordering cadence and stock planning

With a 25–35 day transit to Northern Europe plus production time, a reorder triggered when stock runs out means weeks of shortage. We recommend a rolling 90-day forecast, even an approximate one. Buyers who share a forecast get production slots reserved, which matters during the pre-Christmas and pre-Ramadan peaks when line capacity tightens across the industry.

Common buyer questions

How many napkins come in a bulk case?

Our standard bulk master case holds 1,000 to 3,000 napkins depending on ply and fold, packed in inner wraps inside a corrugated shipper. Exact count per case is confirmed with your quote because it varies with the format you choose.

Can I mix different napkin types in one container?

Yes, up to eight SKUs per container at 5,000 pieces each. We run the container loading calculation and confirm the realistic fill before you place the order, because different formats have different case cube.

What is the lead time for a bulk order?

Production is typically 15-25 days after sample approval for custom work, and faster for stock formats held in inventory. Add transit: 12-18 days to the US West Coast, 25-35 days to Northern Europe, 3-7 days to Japan.

Is 2-ply or 3-ply better for a restaurant?

2-ply handles most table service and is the standard choice. Move to 3-ply when the napkin needs to absorb a spill or substitute for a hand wipe, or when the venue positions itself as premium. 1-ply is for dispensers, not tables.

Do bulk napkins come printed or plain?

Both. Plain bulk cases are the lowest cost per napkin. Printed bulk napkins add a flexo printing step with a 5,000-piece minimum per design and Pantone matching, with a printed proof on the actual substrate before the run.
