For a US distributor testing a new SKU, a seasonal print, or a private label launch, that means tying up capital in hundreds of thousands of pieces before a single unit sells. Many US buyers use that structure deliberately: order 5,000, prove sell-through, then move to container volumes with known demand. Air freight remains the fallback for a spike, but at a higher cost per piece — it is insurance, not a plan.
