Wholesale Napkin Prices: What Drives Cost Per Case in 2026
Wholesale napkin pricing is quoted per piece and invoiced per case, and the spread between the cheapest and the most expensive option for "a white napkin" can be fivefold. The difference is never arbitrary — it comes from six drivers you can specify up front.
The six cost drivers
| Driver | Effect on unit price | Where you can save |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Airlaid costs several times tissue | Reserve airlaid for premium covers |
| Ply | 3-ply ≈ 1.3–1.6× a 2-ply of the same sheet | Match ply to service level, not habit |
| Size | Scales with sheet area | Do not oversize for a bar snack |
| Printing | Each added colour adds a plate and a pass | One-colour logos cost least at volume |
| Order quantity | Unit price falls as the run grows | Consolidate SKUs into one run |
| Freight & Incoterm | Napkins are bulky — freight is a real share | Compare EXW and FOB landed cost |
Realistic price bands
Paper napkins are a low unit-cost, high-volume product, so wholesale pricing is normally quoted in US cents per piece. Typical factory-gate ranges look like this:
- Stock tissue napkins (2-ply, plain, common sizes): roughly 0.4–1.5 cents per piece, depending on sheet size and ply.
- Airlaid / linen-feel napkins: roughly 3–8 cents per piece — the premium for drape, absorbency and handfeel.
- Printed napkins: the print adds a small per-piece amount plus a one-off plate charge; cost per colour matters more than coverage for simple logos.
These bands shift with pulp pricing, exchange rates and freight, so treat them as orientation rather than a quote. For a firm number, request a quote with size, ply, quantity and destination — we reply with EXW and FOB.
How to cut unit cost without losing quality
- Consolidate SKUs. Fewer designs per run means longer, cheaper presses.
- Right-size the napkin. A beverage napkin under a drink costs a fraction of a dinner napkin.
- Reduce print colours. A one-colour logo is meaningfully cheaper than four.
- Ship fuller containers. Napkins are light but bulky — freight per piece drops sharply once you fill the space.
- Plan ahead. Rush air freight can cost more than the goods themselves.
