Cocktail & Beverage Napkins: Sizes, Ply, and Bulk Sourcing for Bars

The small napkin does big work at the bar — coaster duty, brand impression, and condensation control. Here is how to spec it and buy in bulk without waste.

The beverage napkin is the most-handled piece of paper in a bar — under every cocktail, coffee, and soft drink. Get the spec right and it quietly improves presentation and controls condensation; get it wrong and guests are left with a wet ring and a limp coaster.

Size: 25 cm vs 33 cm

The two standard formats are 25 cm (10") and 33 cm (13"). The 25 cm is a true coaster napkin for a single glass; the 33 cm gives more coverage for frozen or sweating drinks and reads more generous. Most bars standardize on 33 cm for cocktails and 25 cm for espresso.

Ply: 2-Ply Is the Sweet Spot

Single-ply beverage napkins go translucent with condensation; 2-ply is the industry default for absorbency and opacity. 3-ply adds cost with little guest-visible gain at the bar, so reserve it for premium tasting flights. Compare a 3-ply stock option →

Absorbency and Cold Drinks

For iced and frozen beverages, the napkin must hold without disintegrating. Look for tissue with decent wet strength; airlaid beverage napkins (premium) stay intact longest but cost more. For high-volume bars, a 2-ply tissue with a tight ply bond is the economical, reliable choice.

Custom-Printed Coasters That Market Themselves

A printed beverage napkin is a tiny billboard — your logo, a signature cocktail, a QR to the menu. Custom print starts at 5,000 pieces per design, making it ideal for a seasonal promotion or flagship drink. See custom logo printing →

Bulk Sourcing and MOQ

Bars rarely need containers alone, so beverages are usually bought alongside dinner napkins in a mixed SKU shipment. Plain beverage napkins aggregate easily; custom prints carry the 5,000-piece MOQ per design. See the station-by-station buying approach →
